where it's at!

okay, i'm certainly a nerd, but...wow, i just found the National Archives and Records Administration, which is terrific!!! it is the home of the original Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Constitution. not only is this a repository in the vein of the Great Library of Alexandria, but it is a living museum holding public displays and exhibits, including interactive behind-the-scenes tours. you dont have to be a librarian to appreciate these national treasures!

grama la

so, i'm just in from a visit with my grama, of whom i am a namesake, and was telling her all about my new "online journal." she doesnt have access to a computer right now, so i plan to print this and show her how much i like what i do now and how fun it is!

i also wanted to give a shout out to granny's life-long career in social work, and to put a link to an organization that she helped found, the North Texas Food Bank.

YAY!! my grama rocks!!!

one of my favourite librarians...

is my mother! yay! here's her most recent page, dedicated to the post-election letter from Michael Moore and also to the names of our military personnel killed in Iraq. thought-provoking and uplifting (honestly)
